Reverend Doctor Eric T. Myers

Frederick Presbyterian Church (FPC) welcomed its new pastor, the Rev. Eric T. Myers, and his family on Sept. 3. “I am excited about joining in the work and ministry of Frederick Presbyterian Church,” the Rev. Myers said. “Building on the past and envisioning the future, I look forward to the years ahead as we worship together, share our lives together, and serve Christ together in the church, the community and the world.”

 


The Rev. Myers came to FPC after earning his doctorate in Liturgical Studies from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Illinois. While earning his doctorate, he also served as an adjunct instructor in preaching at Garrett-Evangelical Seminary and as director of christian education and youth at Highland Park Presbyterian Church in Illinois.

He began his career as director of music at a Presbyterian church in South Carolina, moved into a pastorate in church in North Carolina, and became solo pastor at Clarksville Presbyterian Church in Clarksville, Va.

The Rev. Myers also holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va., a master’s in divinity from Columbia Seminary in Georgia and a master’s in theology (liturgy) from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.

The Rev. Myers and his wife, Lisa, have three daughters.
